College House is an independent hall of residence for University of Canterbury students. We are located in the heart of Ilam, adjoining the campus of the University of Canterbury and is the oldest independent University College in New Zealand.

Founded in 1850, College House is proud of its reputation for academic excellence within a vibrant, supportive and socially diverse community. Our excellent facilities allow 159 first and second year students to be introduced to a rich heritage that fosters potential, seeks personal growth and helps our undergraduates fulfil their hopes and ambitions.
