Principal - Mrs Laraine Sharr

The Principal is the Head of the College, responsible to the Board of Governors for the administration of the College and the welfare of its members.

Mrs Laraine Sharr took up the position of Principal in July 2007, and is the first woman principal since the House was founded in 1850.

Mrs. Sharr has over 25 years experience in teaching, administration and student support at schools including St Andrew’s College, Christchurch and, most recently, as Principal of Melbourne’s prestigious St Catherine’s School.

She says  “I’m particularly excited by the enormous potential for developing partnerships with the wider community as well as strengthening relationships with the College and University. I have the utmost respect for College House and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of such a unique and treasured institution”.
